Yeewu is the meeting of MC Gaston Bandimic, and drummer & composer Uriel Barthélémi.
Together they create a universe that makes clash into each other hip hop, electronic & experimental musics.
The wolof is the language used by Gaston Bandimic, who is spinning his political and revendicative lyrics, talking about education, political situations, or modern slavery.
The songs make progressively appear a complex sound universe that merges different types of electronic, analog, and acoustic instruments.
The music is not only translating the ideas, but has its own life, and is growing up often with a sound that is at the same time very raw and very refined.
Always hiphop, the music is infused with references to the footwork and drum’n bass, as well as jazz & indus, playing with the boundaries between the styles, building an identity that tends to create a very energetic but also a very interior album.
